NationPulse is a free website that shows how each of the 27 EU countries, and the EU-27 average, is doing across 22 areas of society. Each part of a human body stands for one area: the brain for education, research and innovation, the lungs for healthcare, the arms for jobs, the stomach for the cost of living, the legs for transport, and so on. Each part is coloured by whether its official statistics are improving or getting worse.
The 71 indicators come from Eurostat, the OECD and national statistics offices such as Spain's INE, and are updated daily. Every value links to its official source and can be downloaded as CSV. Visitors can compare two countries, play the years from 2005, rank all EU countries on one indicator, and use ready-made exercises for schools and universities. The site is in English and Spanish.
